Introduction
CyberSoc is a Society dedicated to computer gaming. We run LAN parties
throughout the year where members meet with their computers and play
with/against each other. We also organise events and competitions at net cafes, and of course free bbq's.

The '03s1 Post Exam BYO attendance is big :). If you can bring a 100mbit switch don't hesitate. We can always use more equipment.

29/4/03 - Week 9 May BYO LAN
Woah! 24 hour booking is temporarily back. Cybersoc will hold an overnight LAN on May 10th. We are "on trial" for logistics of long room bookings so we need to keep the room (and the toilets) clean to show we are not a burden to CATS (don't bring messy food).
16/4/03 - April LANS important news
The Anzac Day BYO lan has been CANCELLED. Personal engagements and the stoppage of all overnight room bookings led to this.
Hoever the week 6 lan was a great success. Despite the time restriction we had over 40 people attend! It was organised well and ran smooth enough that even the admins had time to belt out some BF1942. The photos can be found here. With the new switch arriving soon we will be even more equipped to run better events, even if they only go for 1 day.
10/4/03 - LANtastic Inter-Uni BYO
Cybersoc has been invited to an overnight Inter-Uni BYO LAN event being

8/4/03 - Week 6 BYO LAN
Changes
For security/vandalism reasons all 24 hour room bookings have been suspended so the lan times are now 10AM - 11.30PM. Also the room has moved to B9-170 (next door sort of). To view the attendance click here.
30/3/03 - Gamesclub Cafe LAN Week

Cybersoc will be holding an event at the [Gamesclub] net cafe in Kingsford, at the end of week 7 (first weekend of the holidays). Watch for more details in coming weeks.

7/4/03 - Midsession Break (Anzac Day) BYO LAN
You heard correctly. Cybersoc is holding no less than 2 BYO lan events during April. Click above to register. It will begin Friday 25th and finish Sat morning. All other details are similar to previous lans (full event details published shortly).
30/3/03 - 2003 AGM Week 5
The Cybersoc Annual General Meeting will be held in K17 level 1 Seminar room on Tues 1st April. Come along to vote in the elections and meet the Cybersoc exec. More details and how to nominate here
24/3/03 - Week 6 BYO LAN registration opens
The rego system is up so get yourself on it. Full event details can be found here. You may notice the "friends" box is missing this time since as we approach capacity we want a more accurate indication of how many people are coming. So get your buddies to sign themselves on; the "maybe" option is still there. Note: You do not have to be a cybersoc member to register for an event.
21/3/03 - Week 4 BBQ
Cybersoc will be having a BBQ next week. This will be a great chance for
the new members to meet new gamers and find out whats going on this year.

- When: 12:30 - 2:00 Wednesday Week 4 (26th March)
- Cost: Free! For members and those that join on the day, otherwise $2 for non-members
7/3/03 - Week 2 BYO Postponed
Due to room booking issues the week 2 BYO has been moved to week 6.
We hope to hold a BBQ in week 4 that will be free for all Cybersoc members.
21/2/03 - Free 0-Week Lab LAN
To welcome everyone and to add to the fun of 0-Week Cybersoc has got hold of a CSE lab with some fast machines to use for some network gaming. Only these 4 days in the year will you see Windows and games at CSE. Drop by, we will be in "Clavier" all week.

21/11/02 - Post-exam BYO LAN attendance
Are you on the list? If not then get yourself on it :) And tell your friends to come. We are thinking of decorating the place for christmas too. (enjoy your 3d accelerated coloured lighting beneath our coloured lighting.)
30/10/02 - Post-exam BYO LAN
There will be a BYO lan event on 30th-1st of Nov which is at the end of the final exam period. No more uni for 3 months!!! Lets make this event even bigger than the last.
29/9/02 - Amazing September BYO
We had a great turnout pleasant atmosphere and a smooth running event. The last count was 36 attendees (who brought a computer). It was so big that we might need to find a bigger room next time. r0r! The photos are here.
23/9/02 - BYO Registration Results
If anyone is wondering if the script worked here are the results. You should have been sent an email reply (if you didnt get one please try again). It is still functioning so tell your friends. We have the room booking confirmed so the event will definately be on:)
In other news, The first ever cybersoc BBQ will be on Wed 25th 1pm on some lawn somewhere. Mmmmm free food for members....
11/9/02 - Week 9 (holidays) BYO LAN
There will be a BYO lan event on 28th-29th of Sep which is the first weekend of the mid session break.
To add to the coolness Cybersoc now has a functional REGISTRATION system! Be sure to use it (you submit "maybe" if you like) and dont forget friends are welcome.
